Today on my online group clothpaperstudio they posted a wonderful blog from Spain where the lady draws on rocks using a Sharpie pen. After seeing her work, I was motivated to try it too. :)

Even though the lady only draws lines and shapes, mine is a bit different.

Birthday Gift from My Friend, Kathie!

Hi Friends,

My dear friend Kathie, sent me the cutest Prosperity Bird Doll for my Birthday! I love everythiing about her. She named her Lola! :)

I love the color Red and Kathie loves the color Purple so she was very clever to include both in the doll. She gave Lola coin earrings that's the prosperity part. :)

Her tail is so festive, I love it.

I tried to take a picture of her sideways but my camera was acting up. :(

She also sent me the fabric postcard that you see in the photo.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

Well on a day like today, my Mom and Dad became the proud parents of a little bundle of love......ME! :)
They are no longer with us, but I am sure they are around me today wishing me all the best.

My online friend Sandee made this Birthday ATC for me. It was her First one and I think she did a very nice job on it. :)

The base is a playing card which she embellished with stickers, words, charm etc.

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE FROM LINDA F!

Yesterday I received a lovely birthday surprise in the mail from Linda Fleming.

She sent me the cutest little Blue Heron made from wire and beads. Her wirework and beading is great. Not that I didn't expect it. :)

I just realized that the lovely birthday card that she sent she made ,using a photo of the flowers that her hubby gave to her. Love that photo!

I think it is going to be hung onto my desk lamp so I can see it everyday!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary ....
Day 983 of my captivity ...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.
In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.Today I decapitated a lizard and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies'. I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

AFRICAN GRAY PARROT FABRIC QUILTIE!

Hi Friends,

From this month on , our Monthly Quiltie Swap from my online group Fabric In Altered Art 2 we will be using the alphabet as the monthly theme. This month we start off with the Letter A.

For my Quilite, I have chosen the African Gray Parrot.

I printed the image onto fabric and then painted it in with prisma pencils. I made the branch and leaves using felt.

SOME MORE BIRTHDAY ATC'S FOR FRIENDS!

Today I worked on two more Birthday ATC'S for my online ATC Birthday Group. These two are for the June Birthday Gals. :) I would send one to myself but probably that would be cheating! LOL

These two are heading out to the UK tomorrow. One is for Anna Nowicki and the other one is for Kathy Haffegee.

Hope they like them. :)

I have gotten around 8 ATC'S already but won't post them until I get ALL of them from the group! I love receiving artsy mail! :)

OCEANIA THE MERMAID

Yesterday I was finishing off two art pieces and my Oceania the Mermaid is one of them. I really had fun working on her. She is a big doll , standing at 18 inches. Her body has lots of work on it. I did hand stitching, beading, applied shells, netting, gold braiding. fishes etc.

I also made her a nice necklace with shells and turquoise beads. :)

I had fun thinking of what to use for her breasts. So I used two big glass marbles that I had and put two little shells as nipples. :)

She also has a little glass sea horse as her belly button.

As you well know by now, I love creating different things and love taking part in swaps. :)

They keep my brain active, that's for sure! :)

From my online group Fiber Art Traders we are having a Mini House Book Pendant Swap hosted by Leilani Pierson. I couldn't pass this one up either. :)

The idea for the Mini House Book Pendant came about from another idea that Leilani P. had published in Cloth Paper Scissors Magazine, Issue 21 (November and December 2008). In that issue, she made House Books that were decorated with different papers. Really cute and easy.

I made my little House Book Pendant in purple and the three book pages are covered with different purple fabrics. Then I added images printed onto fabric, embellishments and words to the pages.

I am calling my House Book Pendant, "La Maison d' Gratitude" or "The House of Gratitude".

My photo for today is of two quails that were heading to eat the seeds that I had just placed in the bird feeder. :)

Aren't they cute. I love their dark faces and the little feather thingie they have on their heads. :)

I was lucky to get this photo because they are very elusive. If they see any movement they leave right away. :)
